Grant Ideas


Do you have a great idea for a project related to General Fitness? Let us know what it is and we could give you up to $500 to make it happen.


Here are examples of other ideas we liked.


Start a general fitness group/league.
Promote fitness in your school by starting a cross-training club where everyone agrees to try a different sport each month (i.e. walking, running, swimming, dodge-ball, yoga, volleyball, biking, soccer, softball, flag football, ultimate Frisbee, etc.). Buy the necessary equipment and promote your club to get as many people involved as possible. Consider having teams/prizes for each sport to encourage active participation. Also consider asking local businesses to let you try their services (i.e. training, coaching, gym usage, etc.). You'd be surprised how many professionals will want to introduce their services to your members if you manage a large group.
Diet/cooking club.
Start a diet/cooking club that shares information on good eating habits and explores how to make well balanced and nutritious meals. Periodically, share your program with other groups.
Fitness for a purpose.
Start a club in your school or community where everyone shares their specific fitness goals. Make T-shirts, meet regularly. Have the entire group serve as a support network for everyone else in the group—people with similar goals can work together.
Educational programs for younger students.
Develop educational materials (i.e. pamphlets, flyers, booklets) about the health issues associated with obesity, poor diet, lack of exercise and eating disorders. Translate your materials into short YouTube videos and/or presentations that can be delivered to local schools, shared on Facebook or presented at community health fairs.
