Grant Ideas


Do you have a great idea for a project related to Senior Care? Let us know what it is and we could give you up to $500 to make it happen.


Here are examples of other ideas we liked.


Organize a series of events at a nursing home.
Work with your local nursing home or convalescent center to organize events to entertain, relate to, or recognize the residents. Consider: painting pots, planting flowers, performing plays and musical numbers, showing movies, etc.
Help seniors communicate with their families through the Internet.
Install a computer at your local nursing home for the residents to use. Hold regular classes/help sessions to help them communicate with their families via email and sending online cards. Also consider capturing their stories on video and sending those to their families as well.
Help seniors stay physically/mentally active.
Organize weekly gatherings for seniors in your community to stay physically/mentally active. Consider walking, biking, hiking, cards, book clubs, discussion groups, tourist outings, etc.
Create an intergenerational community group.
Gather your peers and a group of seniors to do activities together (i.e. book clubs, theater groups, sporting events) and/or work on solving community problems together (i.e. recycling, crime prevention, improving education, hosting blood drives, etc.).
